Clear and elevate your mind with soothing oil nose drops. A transcendent experience combining the revered Ayurvedic botanicals brahmi and tulsi, Mind Rise releases tension, nourishes the tissues and strengthens the vision — of the mind and heart.
Simply tilt your head back, and place 3-5 drops of oil in each nostril. Rest for 5 minutes.
According to the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, the nose is considered the doorway to consciousness, making the gentle application of herbally infused oil through the soft tissue of the inner nostrils a powerful way to support the mind. This ancient detoxification technique, known as nasya, helps to balance the air and ether elements (vata) and improve the flow of prana — the vital life force that flows in through the breath. It is said to improve intelligence and memory, release tension in the head, and promote mental clarity, in addition to repairing and protecting the nasal passages, and strengthening the eyes.
For a transcendent experience, recommended by Moon Bath…
Lie down comfortably on your back, and rest your head back so that it’s slightly below your shoulders. A great way to do this is to hang your head gently over the edge of your bed, so that the crown of your head points slightly downward.
With your head and neck relaxed, drop 3-5 drops of Mind Rise into each nostril. Inhale slightly through your nose to invite the oil into contact with your soft membranes.
Once oil is dropped into both nostrils, rotate your head side to side to encourage the oil to make its way deeper.
Use your fingers to gently massage your cheeks, temples, jaw muscles, and forehead — sensing how the oil nourishes your soft tissues. Place your hands over your eyes for a moment to calm the nervous system.
Rest for a few minutes. This is a perfect moment to simply close your eyes or meditate.
Once complete, sit up slowly. You may blow your nose to remove oil that was not absorbed. It’s perfectly fine if you feel or taste it in the back of your throat.
Pro tip: Warm the oil gently by running the bottle under hot water, or by placing the bottle in a mug of water that has been recently boiled.
Mind Rise can be used daily. This practice is wonderful first thing in the morning or mid day, and is ideally done on an empty stomach. If you use a neti pot, just be sure that your nose is dry before adding the nose drops.

Brahmi is a renowned mental rejuvenative traditionally used in Ayurveda to promote the intellect, enhance mental function and improve concentration to support memory, learning and knowledge. It also supports the proper function of the brain and nerves, bringing balance to the nervous system while promoting clarity and awareness. The name brahmi means "the energy of cosmic consciousness,” and the leaves of this amazing plant are highly sattvic — in other words, they are considered to be energetically pure and harmonious. As such, brahmi has been utilized to support meditation and spiritual practices throughout the ages. Ayurvedically speaking, Brahmi calms vata in the mind and reduces excess kapha in the body, making it ideal for use in a nasya (nose oil). We use the term brahmi to refer to two different, yet very similar, plants, which are both included in this blend: Brahmi/Gotu Kola leaf (Centella asiatica) and Bacopa herb (Bacopa monnieri).
Tulsi, often called Holy Basil, is one of the most sacred plants in India, as it is said to open the heart and mind and bestow the energy of love and compassion. Its calming, adaptogenic effects on the autonomic nervous system make it a wonderful tool for accessing higher levels of awareness, and it is also used to ease overly anxious or compulsive thinking, confusion, and erratic moods. On a more physical level, Tulsi removes excess kapha from the lungs and upper respiratory tract to promote clear, comfortable breathing, as well as healthy circulation and proper function of the heart. Tulsi adorns houses and temples throughout India where it has become a legendary part of the culture over the last five thousand years — earning it the revered name The Elixir of Life.
Calendula, a bright yellow flower that is associated with the sun, is said to bring light to dark places. This beauty is renowned for its ability to relieve chapping, repair skin and calm irritation — so in nasya (nose oil), Calendula helps nourish the soft tissue of your inner nose and soothe the area around your nostrils. Calendula also has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties to help prevent any sort of sinus infection.
Licorice root is a sweet, nourishing herb that is excellent for promoting clear, comfortable breathing, as it supports healthy lungs and natural lubrication of the mucosal membranes.Sattvic in quality, it is said to calm the mind, nurture the spirit, and promote contentment and harmony. As an ingredient in nasya (nose oil), it can also help improve voice and vision, as well as help address congestion, nasal drip or a sore throat. Licorice also nourishes the mind and brain by increasing cranial and cerebrospinal fluid. Ayurvedically speaking, its unctuous quality moistens vata and liquefies kapha.
Rich and robust, sesame oil is considered “the king of oils,” and is a fundamental part of the nurturing Ayurvedic tradition — this luscious oil has been used to support numerous systems in the body for thousands of years. It’s one of the most powerful tools for soothing vata, as it gently warms the tissues, while delivering nourishing and protective moisture into them. It is highly regarded for its ability to easily absorb into the skin, carrying its soothing properties — as well as those of the botanicals infused into it — deep into the tissues, and in the case of this nose oil, the mind.
Sunflower seed oil is a light, bright oil that is highly emollient, so it’s super helpful for helping to soothe chapped, dry and damaged skin. Sunflower oil is also high in omega-6 (linoleic) fatty acid, which helps decrease redness and inflammation of the skin, while keeping the tender membranes of the nose soft and subtle. It is one of the few oils suitable for naturally-oily kapha dosha due to its light texture.
