Palo Santo sticks come from the mystical Palo Santo tree that grows wild in the forests of Peru, Ecuador, and the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Spanish monks discovered the tree centuries ago & gave it its name, which means "holy wood" or "wood of the saints", but the trees date back to the Incan era, when its wood was used in ceremonies and rituals. Palo Santo wood is known for its rare & magical qualities - shamans in South America believe that Palo Santo has a strong spirit that stays in the wood well after the tree has fallen, and when treated with respect, the spirit of the wood will assist you in restoring your physical and energetic well being.
These special trees can never be cut down, and the wood and essential oils may only be harvested 3 years after the natural death of the tree itself, with most not harvested until after 4 to 10 years have passed.
Palo Santo has several uses, but most commonly it is burned to cleanse & clear negative and stagnant energies from a space and to draw in positive energies. Its smoke can also be used to cleanse crystals and your own personal energy, as well.
Its scent is uplifting and is much brighter than Sage, making it a great alternative. Great to use before meditation and yoga, or spending a night in relaxing.
Each Palo Santo stick is about 4-5".
